A - The download consists of one or more CD or DVD images. Make sure that the computer you are using has a CD/DVD writer, and that you have sufficient media available. You will then use the CD's or DVD's to install the software on your system. You can use the CD's or DVD's to install onto only one computer. View and print detailed instructions found here.

B - You will download the installation files on a computer with a high-speed connection (DSL or Cable Modem or a campus lab). After the download, you can install onto the same computer where you did the download, or you can copy the installation files to a CD-R or DVD for installation later on your personal system. View and print detailed instructions found here.

C - The download consists of one or more CD/DVD images. Macintosh software must be downloaded on a Windows system using Internet Explorer. Burn the CD/DVD using Windows software as indicated in the documentation. Then take the CD/DVD to your Macintosh to install the software. You can use the CD's or DVD's to install onto only one computer. View and print detailed instructions found here.

D - The download consists of instructions plus an access key that is redeemable through Xbox Live Marketplace.

Access to the System
In order to obtain any software through the Department of Computer Science, you first need to log into the MSDN Academic Alliance Software Center. If you are currently registered for a computer science course, you should have received an email with the username and password to be used. The username is your BGSU email address (e.g. jsmith@bgsu.edu). The login page is http://msdn06.e-academy.com/bgsu_cs/ If you don't know your password, just click on the link under Login Help.

Note:  If you have told the Registrar that your personal directory information cannot be released to a third party (very few students do this), you will not be able to participate in this program.  In order to gain access to the web site for downloading software, we need to share your email address with Microsoft and they need to send you the password for the download site.
