CS 101: Introduction to Programming

Catalog Description

Algorithms. Programming language features: expressions, assignments, functions with parameters, conditions, loops, arrays. Several programming assignments required. Does not apply to the computer science major or minor. Credit not allowed for both CS101 and CS261.

Prerequisite

Two years of high school algebra or MATH 095.

Required Materials

CS101 packet "Using Visual Basic with Excel 2002" at University Bookstore

Coursework

Three tests and three quizzes will be given during the semester.  There will be six lab sessions, six homework assignments and seven programming assignments given throughout the semester.

Final Exam

  • 8:30 Section          Wednesday, May 5th, 8:30am-10:30am
  • 9:30 Section           Thursday, May 6th, 8:30am-10:30am
